Mrs. Brenda Catlett, Principal
Mrs. Brenda Catlett joined Arizona Desert Elementary School as the principal in 2005 after three years of teaching and serving as assistant principal at Sheely Farms Elementary School. Mrs. Catlett grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, and attended Camelback High School in the Phoenix Union High School District. She attended Yavapai College in Prescott, Arizona, where she played volleyball and earned an associate's degree in science in 1996. Mrs. Catlett attended the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota, and earned her bachelor’s degree in education and physical education in 1999. She went on to earn her master’s degree in educational leadership at Northern Arizona University in 2002. Mrs. Catlett is married and has two sons. Mrs. Catlett is very proud of the students, parents, and staff at Arizona Desert Elementary. Together, they have built a positive learning environment with high academic and social expectations.
Mrs. Jody Madrigal, Assistant Principal
Mrs. Jody Madrigal joined Arizona Desert Elementary School as a teacher in 2013. She has served students as a math and science teacher, teacher on special assignment, and S.T.E.M. coach at Arizona Desert. She now proudly serves as the assistant principal. Mrs. Madrigal grew up in Delaware and later Northern California where she attended California State University, Chico, to earn a bachelor of arts degree in liberal studies, an elementary teaching credential, and a middle school math credential. She earned a master’s degree in education administration at Grand Canyon University. Mrs. Madrigal is married with a son and a house full of pets. Mrs. Madrigal believes all students are capable of success and promotes this belief with all students daily.
